New York City based, Cuban Percussionist Yanet Montero studied at the Ignacio Cervantes Institute in Havana and was the first woman to receive an award at the National Cuban Percussion Competition.
She has shared the stage with Celia Cruz, Oscar de Leon and Cachao. She has recorded and toured with many artists including Mario Dom, Janet Chao, Edgar Oseransky, Nuika Curbelo, Yomira Jons and Ricardo Montaner.
She has performed at the Havana International Jazz Festival, the International Caribbean Culture Festival in Mexico City and the Festival of Electronic Music in Vera Cruz, Mexico. As well as playing with many bands, she has also recorded for several television commercials in the United States.
