Originally from Córdoba, Argentina, vocalist , composer and music educator Sofia Tosello is a cherished voice in the vibrant scene of New York City artists who are redefining Latin American song. Sofia came to New York City in 1999 to pursue her dream, getting to know the Northern currents of jazz. Graduated from The City College of New York, she had the honor of stuying with legendary jazz singer Sheila Jordan.


Ms. Tosello has had the opportunity of performing and recording with talented and renowned musicians such as Horacio El Negro Hernandez, Grammy Winner Thalia, Grammy Nominee Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra, Pablo Mayor and Folklore Urbano, Alex Cuba, La Polly Ferman and Glamour Tango, Marta Gomez, Julio Santillan Septet, Guy Mendilow Ensemble. Sofia has performed in most of major New York City’s stages, in festivals and venues worldwide such as Michigan Women’s Festival, the Art Museum of Philadelphia, the Macau Jazz Festival in China, Geoffreys in Chennai, India and the Teatro Real in Argentina.


Sofia has also developed a passion for educating. In the fall 2011 and 2012, she was part of the music faculty at Swarnabhommi Academy of Music in Chennai, India along with renowned musicians such as Victor Wooten, Dafnis Prieto among others.

In 2012 Sofia launched a new album project, a collaboration with Afro-Peruvian guitarist Yuri Juarez entitled Tangolandó, exploring a refreshing fusion that connects musical styles such as tango, milonga, landó, festejo, waltz, all in one unique and innovative sound. Ms. Tosello is finishing her Jazz Music Performance Master at Queens College.
